Six more people have died of dengue across Bangladesh in the past 24 hours, while 1,942 dengue patients have been admitted to hospitals across the country.
The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) disclosed the figures in a dengue-related press release issued by its Health Emergency Operation Centre and Control Room on Tuesday, September 29.
Of the patients admitted over the past 24 hours, 785 are in Dhaka Division, 120 in Mymensingh Division, 301 in Chattogram Division, 264 in Khulna Division, 213 in Barishal Division, 197 in Rajshahi Division, 56 in Rangpur Division and six in Sylhet Division.
As of September 29 this year, a total of 77,672 dengue patients have been admitted to hospitals across the country.
Six people died of dengue in the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of dengue deaths in Bangladesh this year to 239.
Meanwhile, 1,751 dengue patients were discharged from hospitals after recovering over the past 24 hours. So far this year, a total of 72,004 dengue patients have recovered and been discharged from hospitals.
For comparison, between January 1 and December 31, 2025, Bangladesh recorded a total of 102,861 dengue cases and 413 deaths from the disease.
