


The government has made a major reshuffle in the administration, appointing new secretaries to four ministries and divisions, with three additional secretaries promoted to the rank of secretary.
The Ministry of Public Administration issued seven separate notifications on Wednesday, September 2, announcing the changes.
Additional Secretary Yasmin Begum of the Cabinet Division has been promoted and appointed secretary of the Ministry of Cultural Affairs.
Additional Secretary AKM Benjamin Riazi of the Ministry of Industries has been appointed secretary of the Health Education and Family Welfare Division.
Meanwhile, Additional Secretary Dr ANM Bazlur Rashid, who was attached to the Ministry of Public Administration, has been appointed secretary of the Health Services Division.
Contractual Senior Secretary of the Ministry of Public Administration Md Ehsanul Haque has been transferred and appointed as a member (senior secretary) of the Planning Commission.
In his place, contractual Secretary of the Health Services Division Md Kamruzzaman Chowdhury has been appointed secretary of the Ministry of Public Administration on a contractual basis.
Meanwhile, Secretary of the Ministry of Cultural Affairs Kaniz Moula has been attached to the Ministry of Public Administration for her next posting.
In another notification, Nasrin Jahan, member (secretary) of the Socio-Economic Infrastructure Division of the Planning Commission, has been sent into retirement after completing her tenure in government service.
She will retire from government service effective September 5 and has been granted post-retirement leave (PRL) for one year.
The latest appointments and transfers are part of a significant reshuffle in Bangladesh’s senior administration.
