The price of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) has been reduced in Bangladesh for September, with the price of a 12kg cylinder cut by Tk 13 to Tk 1,585.
The Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission (BERC) announced the revised prices for LPG and autogas in a notice issued on Wednesday, September 2.
The new prices will come into effect at 6pm on Wednesday and remain in force until further notice.
According to the BERC decision, a 5.5kg LPG cylinder will cost Tk 727, while the price of a 12.5kg cylinder has been set at Tk 1,652.
The price of a 15kg cylinder has been fixed at Tk 1,982, while a 16kg cylinder will cost Tk 2,114. An 18kg cylinder will be sold at Tk 2,378, a 20kg cylinder at Tk 2,642 and a 22kg cylinder at Tk 2,907.
For larger cylinders, the price of a 25kg LPG cylinder has been set at Tk 3,303. A 30kg cylinder will cost Tk 3,964, while 33kg and 35kg cylinders will cost Tk 4,360 and Tk 4,624, respectively.
The new price of a 45kg LPG cylinder has been fixed at Tk 5,945.
Previously, a 12kg LPG cylinder was being sold at Tk 1,598. The latest decision therefore brings the price down by Tk 13.
BERC has also announced a new price for autogas for September. The revised rates will remain effective until the commission issues a further order.
