Indian singer Anupam Roy's much-anticipated Dhaka concert has been cancelled at the last minute for the second time this year, following sudden instructions from the Ministry of Cultural Affairs.
The event "One True Sound with Anupam Roy," was scheduled for August 1 at the United Convention Center. However late Wednesday event organizer Triple Times Communications announced the abrupt cancellation. Despite having secured all necessary government approvals and completing formalities in advance, the ministry revoked the permit just two days before the show, citing "unavoidable reasons."
Organizer Pritam Dey expressed deep disappointment over the sudden reversal. He noted that this last-minute cancellation—mirroring a similar postponement in June—has resulted in significant financial losses for the organizers.
"This has put our ticket-holding audience fellow artists sponsors and partners in an embarrassing situation" Dey stated though he added that the organization respectfully accepts the state's decision.
To reassure the audience Triple Times Communications guaranteed a 100% refund for all ticket buyers. The official ticketing platform will announce the detailed refund process shortly.
