DHAKA, Bangladesh Super Board has introduced Bangladesh’s first and only internationally certified E0 particle board, marking a significant milestone for the country’s engineered wood industry.
The new product, launched by Super Formica & Lamination Ltd., a concern of T.K. Group, has received CARB/EPA-recognized E0 certification, making it the first particle board in Bangladesh to meet this international standard for ultra-low formaldehyde emissions.
Under international standards, formaldehyde emission levels for wood-based panels are commonly classified into E0, E1, and E2. E0 represents the strictest category, with emissions close to natural background levels, making it one of the safest options for indoor environments. Until now, Bangladesh's market has primarily offered products meeting the E1 standard or below.
According to the company, the introduction of E0-certified boards reflects its commitment to improving public health, environmental sustainability, and product quality. The company said the new board is designed to provide a safer solution for homes, offices, schools, hospitals, and other indoor spaces where air quality is a priority.
The product was unveiled during a press conference attended by leading architects, industry professionals, media representatives, and senior company officials.
Among those present were renowned architect Kazi Golam Nasir; architect and professor Abu Sayeed M. Ahmed; Business Directors Md. Shafiul Athar and Mohammad Mofachchel Haque; Mahfuzur Rahman, adviser to T.K. Group; Head of Business Mohammad Nurun Nabi; Head of Business Operations Abu Fatah Md. Javed; Head of Brand (T.K. Group) Md. Ibrahim Khalil Nayan; AGM (QC/QA & R&D) Engr. Md. Shah Newaz; and Head of Brand (Super Board) A. A. M. Abid.
Speakers at the event said the launch represents more than the introduction of a new product. They described it as a step toward raising health and environmental standards in Bangladesh's interior design, furniture, and construction industries.
The company believes the availability of internationally certified E0 boards will help establish higher industry benchmarks while offering consumers safer and more sustainable building materials.
