


A day-long "Startup, Science Project, and Innovation Idea Showcase" was held at the Louhajang Upazila Auditorium on Thursday, aimed at fostering a scientific mindset and entrepreneurial spirit among local youth.
Organized jointly by the Louhajang Upazila Administration and the Upazila Secondary Education Office, the exhibition was held under the "Educational Excellence Support Scheme" (EESS) of the Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education. The theme of the event was: "Bangladesh a country of talent, science, initiative and innovation first of all."
Students from 10 secondary educational institutions in the upazila participated, showcasing projects focused on technology-based solutions, eco-friendly innovations, agricultural development and digital healthcare.
Presiding over the event, Louhajang Upazila Executive Officer (UNO) Farzana Bobby Mitu urged the young innovators to keep pushing boundaries. "To transform our nation into a smart, developed Bangladesh, our youth must actively engage in science, research and technology. These creative student initiatives are laying the foundation for our future," she stated.
The event was moderated by Academic Supervisor Mahbuba Nasrin Keya. Notable attendees included Assistant Commissioner (Land) Md. Erfanur Rahman, Assistant Secondary Education Officer Monira Akhter and Louhajang Upazila Press Club President Abu Naser Khan Limon, along with local government officials, dignitaries and institution heads.
A jury panel consisting of Senior Fisheries Officer Md. Rezaul Islam and Agricultural Extension Officer Rukaiya Sarmin evaluated the projects based on creativity and real-world utility.
Haldia Government Multipurpose High School clinched the first prize while Louhajang Model Pilot High School and Kazi Pagla Abhay Talukder High School secured the second and third positions respectively. The event concluded with the distribution of trophies and certificates to all participating schools.
