Khulna MP Advocates for Tech-Friendly Education at Paikgacha Science Exhibition

Alhaj Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, Member of Parliament for the Khulna-6 constituency, emphasized the critical need to prioritize science and technical education alongside general education to keep Bangladesh competitive globally.

Speaking as the chief guest at the inauguration of the "Startup Science Project and Innovative Ideas Program" on Friday morning, the lawmaker highlighted the untapped potential of local students. The event was held at the Paikgacha Government Girls' High School auditorium.

"Our youth possess indomitable talent, but we must provide them with a favorable environment and opportunities for tech-friendly learning," MP Azad stated. "Instead of simply chasing traditional jobs, today's young generation must adopt an entrepreneurial mindset to become self-reliant job creators."

The day-long innovation program was organized by the Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education under its Educational Excellence Support Scheme (EESS).

Following the inaugural ceremony, the chief guest alongside other dignitaries toured the stalls. Young innovators from 13 local educational institutions participated in the exhibition, presenting various technology-driven projects and scientific models to an audience of science teachers, journalists and fellow students.

The event concluded with the distribution of the "Innovative Meritorious Student Award" and the "Meritorious Teacher Award for Quality Education" to recognize outstanding local contributions.

The program was chaired by Paikgacha Upazila Executive Officer (UNO) Wasiuzzaman Chowdhury, while Upazila Secondary Education Officer Roksana Parveen delivered the welcome address.

Paikgacha Government College Principal Professor Samaresh Roy, Assistant Commissioner (Land) Md. Fazle Rabbi, Head Teacher Abdul Wahab, Upazila ICT Officer Abdus Samad and Academic Supervisor Mir Noor-e-Alam Siddiqui were attended.

District Jamaat Executive Committee Member Alhaj Maulana Aminul Islam, District Workers Welfare Federation Vice President Maulana Kamal Hossain, Upazila Jamaat Nayeb Ameer Maulana GM Bulbul Ahmed and Secretary Maulana Altaf Hossain, alongside other local political figures also present at the event.
