


Police arrested a 24-year-old man and seized 120 pieces of Yaba tablets during a late-night raid on a suspected drug den in Monohardi Upazila on Wednesday.
The arrestee has been identified as Shamim, son of Abdus Chattar and Halima Begum, hailing from the Dashdona Gayen Bari area of the upazila.
Acting on a tip-off, a team from Monohardi Police Station, led by Sub-Inspector (SI) Al Islam and Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Sohanur Rahman, conducted the drive at around 3:30 AM. The raid targeted a house near Colonel Haque's brick kiln, adjacent to Hatirdia Bazar.
During the search, which was part of an ongoing special anti-drug operation, law enforcement officers recovered 120 pieces of the contraband drug from Shamim's possession.
Police have seized the narcotics and filed a case against the suspect under the Narcotics Control Act. Monohardi police reiterated that their strict crackdown on illegal drugs will continue to keep the community safe and drug-free.
