Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Mohanganj Police Station Md Hafizul Islam exchanged views with worshippers at the Mohanganj Upazila Model Mosque on Friday (January 22), ahead of Jumma prayers.

During his address, the OC said the overall law and order situation in the upazila is normal. However, he sought public cooperation to address ongoing social issues, including drug abuse, eve-teasing, child marriage, and suicide.

He urged members of the community to stay alert and work closely with the police to maintain peace and security. Md Hafizul Islam requested worshippers to save the OC’s contact number and to inform the police immediately if any incident threatens law and order. He also advised calling the national emergency service number, 999, when necessary.

After the discussion, the OC joined the worshippers in offering Jumma prayers.

Following the prayers, several local residents raised concerns about drug-related activities near Mohanganj Adarsh High School and demanded a stronger anti-drug campaign in the area.
