Banshkhali police hosted an anti-drug rally and public assembly on Wednesday afternoon under the slogan, "Let us unite to build a drug-free society."
The rally began at the Banshkhali Police Station, marched along the municipality’s main thoroughfare, and concluded at the Banshkhali Upazila Parishad grounds.
Presided over by Banshkhali Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md. Robiul Haq, the post-rally gathering featured several guest speakers, including Banshkhali Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Md. Ruhul Amin, Assistant Superintendent of Police (Anwara Circle) Mahmudul Hasan, former Upazila BNP General Secretary Aminur Rahman Chowdhury, and other local political and student leaders.
Speaking at the event, Assistant Superintendent Mahmudul Hasan emphasized the widespread impact of substance abuse on local communities.
"Drugs do not just destroy an individual; they ruin families and society as a whole," Hasan said. "Protecting our youth from the scourge of drugs is everyone's moral duty. We conducted this awareness drive as part of that responsibility, and our anti-drug operations will continue."
