Parents’ Meeting Held at SJ School to Improve Education Quality in Muksudpur

A parents’ meeting was held at Government Model Saber Mia Jasim Uddin (SJ) High School in Muksudpur, Gopalganj with the aim of improving the quality of education, encouraging students to become more attentive to their studies and ensuring regular attendance at school.

The meeting was held at 12:00 noon on Wednesday (August 19) in the school’s auditorium.

The meeting was chaired by Mahmud Ashik Kabir, Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) of Muksudpur and Chairman of the school’s governing body. Sunil Chandra Mondal, Head Teacher of the school delivered the welcome address, while Assistant Teacher Shukdeb Poddar moderated the programme.

Among those present were Abdus Salam Khan, President of Muksudpur Upazila BNP Abdul Quayyum Sharif, Upazila Academic Supervisor; Md. Chiru Mia, President of Muksudpur Press Club Abul Bashar Tultu Biswas, President of Muksudpur Poura BNP and Mashiur Rahman Mintu, General Secretary of the organisation. Journalists from various print and electronic media outlets as well as parents of the students were also present.

In his address UNO Mahmud Ashik Kabir highlighted the responsibilities and key roles of teachers and parents in further improving educational standards. He stressed the importance of ensuring students’ regular attendance, encouraging them to remain focused on their studies, maintaining discipline and closely monitoring their academic and personal progress.

The speakers said that education should not be limited to achieving good examination results. Schools and families must work together to develop students into responsible citizens with strong moral and human values. They emphasised the need for stronger coordination and regular communication among the school authorities, teachers and parents.

The meeting also featured an exchange of views between teachers and parents on students’ academic progress, attendance, discipline and overall development. All concerned were urged to work together to ensure a bright and successful future for the students.
