India defeated New Zealand by 96 runs to win the ICC Men's T20 World Cup final at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

Batting first, India posted a massive total of 255 for 5. Sanju Samson led the innings with 89 runs, while Ishan Kishan scored 54 and Abhishek Sharma added 52. For New Zealand, Jimmy Neesham took three wickets for 46 runs.

In reply, New Zealand were bowled out for 159. Tim Seifert scored 52 and Mitchell Santner contributed 43, but the rest of the batting lineup failed to build momentum.

India’s bowling attack dominated the second innings. Jasprit Bumrah delivered a standout performance, taking 4 wickets for just 15 runs. Axar Patel also played a key role with three wickets for 27 runs.

The match was effectively sealed when Tilak Varma completed a catch at long-on, confirming India’s comprehensive victory.

With this win, India secured their third T20 World Cup title and became the first team to defend the championship successfully. The victory also marked India’s first T20 World Cup triumph on home soil.

New Zealand, meanwhile, suffered another disappointment in an ICC final, continuing a difficult run in major tournament deciders.
