India avoided a clean sweep in the three-match ODI series against Australia, securing a nine-wicket consolation win in Sydney, potentially the final ODI appearance on Australian soil for star batters Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli.

Rohit Sharma (38) smashed his 33rd ODI century, an unbeaten 121 off 125 balls, while Virat Kohli (36) rebounded from consecutive ducks to score a meticulous 74 not out. The veteran duo chased down Australia's below-par total of 236 with over 11 overs to spare, finishing at 237-1.

Earlier, Indian fast bowler Harshit Rana delivered a career-best performance, taking 4-39 to help dismiss Australia. India’s captain, Shubman Gill, praised the performance, saying the team had a "near-perfect game."

The win closes the series 2-1 in favor of Australia. Sharma and Kohli will not participate in the upcoming five-game T20 series starting October 29.
