Barrister Andalib Rahman Partha, Chairman of the Bangladesh BJP, has declared a zero-tolerance policy against extortion, tender rigging, and land grabbing in Bhola. Speaking at a massive rally in front of the BJP office at Natun Bazar on Saturday, Partha promised to restore peace and improve the quality of life for the residents of his constituency.
Reflecting on the legacy of his father, the late Naziur Rahman Manjur, Partha emphasized that he would continue the family tradition of serving the people without injustice. While he admitted he might not turn Bhola into "Singapore," he committed to ensuring a livable, peaceful environment. He specifically highlighted his goals to establish a Medical College and construct the long-awaited Bhola-Barisal Bridge.
In a significant move toward political solidarity, Partha called for "brotherly unity" between the BNP and BJP.
He urged supporters to avoid violence and revenge, stressing that both parties must work together to build a modern Bhola. He maintained a respectful stance toward other candidates, noting that there are no personal differences with those contesting with symbols like the "Fan" or "Scales."
He acknowledged the 17 years of sacrifice by BNP leaders, specifically mentioning Bhola BNP President Alhaj Golam Nabi Alamgir, whom he pledged to honor if elected.
Partha recalled his time as an opposition MP, where he was a vocal critic of the Sheikh Hasina administration. He reminded the crowd of his protests against corruption, specifically mentioning "electricity theft" and the infamous "pillow corruption."
He claimed that under the previous government, Bhola had become a place of terror due to anarchy and piracy, which he now intends to dismantle. With the 13th National Assembly election scheduled for February 12, Partha—campaigning with the "Bullock Cart" symbol—urged voters to choose a leader capable of bringing structural development and safety to the region. He framed this election as a step toward a new, independent, and democratic Bangladesh following the fall of the autocratic regime.
