


Prime Minister Tarique Rahman reaffirmed the nation's unwavering trust in the Bangladesh Army during his visit to the military's summer exercise in Barishal on Monday. Describing the army as a symbol of the country's independence and sovereignty, he praised the armed forces for their continuous professionalism, courage, and patriotism during national crises.
During his visit to the Purba Rahmatpur area in Babuganj upazila, Rahman observed tactical wartime preparedness exercises, which included an anti-drone multi-barrel defense system. He actively engaged with soldiers deployed in the dense jungle terrain, inquiring about their well-being and encouraging their ongoing dedication.
Reflecting on his own childhood in a military family, the Prime Minister shared a field-prepared meal with the troops, reinforcing his personal connection to the armed forces. To maintain public trust, Rahman emphasized the need for rigorous professional training, the adoption of modern technology, and maximum operational readiness.
He assured the troops that the government is fully committed to supporting the army's modernization to enhance its global reputation and capabilities.
Senior officials, including Chief of Army Staff General Waker-Uz-Zaman, Information and Broadcasting Minister Zahir Uddin Swapon, and Defence Adviser Brig Gen (retd) AKM Shamsul Islam, were also in attendance.
