


Foreign Minister Dr. Khalilur Rahman stated on Tuesday that Bangladesh is prepared to take necessary action should any "push-in" incidents occur following the change of power in West Bengal, India.
Speaking to reporters after meeting with a visiting US delegation at the State Guest House Padma, the Foreign Minister addressed regional stability and bilateral concerns. Regarding the long-pending Teesta Water-Sharing Treaty, Dr. Rahman noted that the decision to finalize the agreement now rests with India and the newly formed West Bengal government.
Additionally, the Minister shared updates on the Prime Minister’s upcoming diplomatic schedule. Prime Minister Tarique Rahman is expected to visit either China or India in June. Dr. Rahman confirmed that the Teesta Master Plan will be a primary agenda item during the Prime Minister's visit to the neighboring countries.
