Prime Minister Tarique Rahman urged students to actively eliminate stagnant water and maintain strict cleanliness at home and school to curb the spread of dengue.
He shared this advice on Tuesday afternoon during an interaction with 42 visiting students from Kalmakanda Girls High School, Netrakona at his Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban office. The students ranging from classes VI to X were visiting the Parliament to observe a legislative session alongside their teachers.
During the meeting Prime Minister emphasized holistic personal development and social responsibility. His core advice to the youth included:
Dengue Prevention: Ensure no water remains stagnant around homes or educational institutions. He noted that small and community-level cleanliness initiatives are vital for building a healthy society.
Physical Well-being: Balance academic studies with regular sports and physical exercise for proper mental and physical development rather than focusing exclusively on textbooks.
Animal Welfare: Practice compassion toward voiceless and helpless animals, noting that such care reflects the core values of a humane society.
Deputy Press Secretary Md. Suzauddhowla stated that the Prime Minister also took the time to ask the students about their academic progress, current classes and future career aspirations.
The students expressed immense excitement at meeting the Prime Minister directly. They pledged to implement his advice in their daily lives and share his messages on cleanliness, fitness and compassion among their families, peers and local communities.
