Bollywood singer Neha Kakkar left fans and the media confused today after sharing and swiftly deleting a series of emotional Instagram Stories. The posts hinted at a major life transition and a plea for privacy amid intense online scrutiny.

On Monday (19 January), the singer posted two cryptic messages. In the first, she expressed a desire to disconnect: "Time to take a break from Responsibilities, Relationships, Work and Everything I can think of right now. Not sure if I'll be back or not. Thank you."

In a second Story, she directly addressed the media and paparazzi: "I request paparazzi and fans not to film me at all. I hope you respect my privacy and let me live freely in this world. No cameras plz! This is the least you all can give me for my peace."

Both stories were removed within minutes, but screenshots have already gone viral across social media.

Backlash Over 'Candy Shop' While Neha did not provide a specific reason for the outburst, fans speculate it is tied to the "brutal" reception of her latest single, Candy Shop. Released on 15 December 2025, the track—a collaboration with her brother Tony Kakkar—was widely trolled online. Critics labeled the song "cringe" and "vulgar," with many accusing the duo of unsuccessfully trying to mimic K-pop aesthetics.

This is not the first time Neha has faced an emotional moment in the spotlight. In March 2025, a video of her breaking down on stage during a Melbourne concert went viral. The singer was reportedly booed after arriving three hours late, an incident she later blamed on the organizers.

Known for chart-toppers like Aankh Maarey and Dilbar, Neha is currently a judge on popular music reality shows. She has not yet issued a formal statement regarding today's posts.
