Two motorcycle riders, who were relatives, were killed after being hit by a passenger bus in Lalmohan upazila of Bhola on Thursday evening.

The deceased were identified as Abul Kalam, 45, and Md Oli Ullah Dubai, residents of Ward No. 3 of Paschim Char Umed Union. They were brothers-in-law.

The accident occurred near Dr Azhar Uddin Degree College on the Bhola–Char Fashion regional highway.

According to local sources, the two men were riding a motorcycle from Gazaria Bazar to attend a religious gathering in the Kartarhat area. When they reached the college area, a bus travelling from Char Fashion towards Bhola struck the motorcycle, killing both riders on the spot.

Following the crash, an angry crowd set the passenger bus on fire.

Legal action is under process, police said.
