


The two-day district-level summer sports competition for schools, madrasas and technical education institutions has concluded in Lakshmipur, with prizes awarded to the winning teams and participants.
The closing and prize-giving ceremony was held at the Lakshmipur District Stadium on Monday (September 15) afternoon.
Lakshmipur Additional District Magistrate (ADM) Md Mezba-ul-Alam Bhuiyan chaired the event. District Secondary Education Officer Gautam Chandra Mitra, education officials, teachers, sports organisers, and students and teachers from different educational institutions were also present.
Champion boys’ and girls’ teams from six upazilas of the district participated in the district-level competition.
The two-day event featured several disciplines, including kabaddi, handball, swimming and chess. The enthusiastic participation of students turned the district stadium into a festive venue throughout the competition.
In boys’ kabaddi, Ramganj MU High School emerged champion, while Poura Shahid Smriti Academy won the girls’ title.
Lakshmipur Adarsha Samad Government High School became champion in boys’ handball, while Hosenpur High School won the girls’ division.
At the closing ceremony, prizes and crests were handed to the winning teams and participants.
Organisers said such competitions play an important role in promoting students’ physical and mental development and encouraging greater participation in sports.
