Pakistan lost momentum after a strong start in the second ODI against Bangladesh at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur.

After being put in to bat, Pakistan’s openers started confidently. Maj Sadaqat led the charge with an aggressive innings, reaching his half-century in just 31 balls. He looked set for a bigger score as he dominated the Bangladesh bowlers early on.

However, Bangladesh captain Mehidy Hasan Miraz provided the crucial breakthrough. Sadaqat was caught behind by Liton Das after scoring 75 runs from 46 balls, ending a strong opening stand. Pakistan lost their first wicket at 103.

Bangladesh quickly added more pressure. Opener Sahibzada Farhan was dismissed for 31 runs from 46 balls by Taskin Ahmed. Soon after, Shamil Hussain returned to the dressing room after scoring 6 runs off 22 deliveries.

Following the early breakthroughs, Mohammad Rizwan and Salman Ali Agha began rebuilding Pakistan’s innings.

As of writing, Pakistan have scored 131 runs for the loss of 3 wickets in 22 overs.
