Two-day BGMEA Paddle Cup 2025 begins

The first-ever “BGMEA Paddle Cup 2025” organized by the current board of directors of the Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) has begun. Today, 28 November 2025, the two-day tournament was inaugurated by BGMEA Acting President Enamul Haque Khan at the Bashundhara Paddle Tennis Ground in Dhaka.

BGMEA has organized this sports competition with the aim of strengthening spiritual bonds among the members of the garment industry family and instilling new enthusiasm.

BGMEA Acting President Enamul Haque Khan, Vice President Vidya Amrit Khan, directors, participating players and the Managing Director of United Commercial Bank Ltd. were present on the stage at the inaugural ceremony.

It is worth mentioning that this Paddle Cup is being organized under the special initiative and supervision of BGMEA Board Director Shah Raed Chowdhury. Acting President Enamul Haque Khan delivered the welcome speech at the inaugural ceremony of the Paddle Cup. Director Shah Raed Chowdhury also spoke.

The program was moderated by Sports Committee Chairman Md. Sajjad Ali Khan.

BGMEA members and their family members are participating in the competition in two categories: Beginner and Advanced. Among the BGMEA Board Directors, Shah Raed Chowdhury, Nafis-ud-Daula, Joarder Mohammad Hosne Qamar Alam, Asef Kamal Pasha, Mohammad Sohel and Sakif Ahmed Salam are participating as players.

M/s MHC Apparels Private Limited, Ahsan Apparels Limited, Graphics Textile Limited, Chaiti Composite Limited, Tanima Knit Composite Limited, Jalal Hats & Apparels Limited, Voyager Apparels Limited, Masud Apparels, Moon Readywear Limited, Majumdar Garments Limited, Square Knit Composite PLC.

Names of participating companies (Beginner Category): Evitex Dress Shirt Limited, Golden Stitch Design Limited, Cutting Edge Industries Limited, Impress Newtex Composite Textile Limited, Fahim Textile Mills Limited, Cottonex Fashions Limited, R.S. Sweater Private Ltd, Mithila Textile Industry, Windy Apparels Ltd, Sonia & Sweaters Ltd, MZM CEPZ Ltd, Jewel Design Ltd, Mask Treasures Ltd, Delight Fashions Ltd, SI Garments Ltd, Bangla Apparel, SRS Design Ltd and TRZ.

After the inauguration, the exciting group stage matches began. The qualifying teams will compete in the semi-finals and finals tomorrow.

A large number of BGMEA general members enjoyed the group stage matches at the paddle tennis ground.

It is worth mentioning that the BGMEA Paddle Cup 2025 is being organized by United Commercial Bank as the ‘POWERED BY’ Sponsor; Sportswear brand, Dour as the kit partner; bKash as the co-partner and T-Sports is providing support for media coverage.
