Government committed to maintaining media freedom: State Minister

State Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Yasir Khan Chowdhury, reaffirmed the government’s commitment to ensuring media freedom, stating that the ministry will continue taking all necessary steps to protect the press.

The State Minister made these remarks during the Who’s Who Bangladesh-2026 award ceremony held at a hotel in the capital on Friday evening.

Highlighting the government's focus on inclusive growth, Chowdhury noted that the administration believes in the "politics of development" and is dedicated to moving forward with the cooperation of all sectors. He urged the public and the media to align their efforts with this vision for national progress.

Honoring Excellence Who’s Who Bangladesh 2026 During the event, the State Minister presented medals to 12 distinguished individuals and one institution. The awards recognize outstanding contributions to education, culture, journalism, and entrepreneurship.

Professional Excellence Shakhawat Hossain (CEO, Sheraton Hotel). Social Service Shanti Sri (Sri Chinmoy Foundation).
