NCP activist Jannat Ara Rumi dead body found in a Hazaribagh Hostel

Police have discovered the hanging body of a young woman, identified as Jannat Ara Rumi (30), in a female hostel located in the Hazaribagh area of Dhaka.

She was politically active with the National Citizen Party (NCP), although it has not yet been verified if she held any official position within the party, according to police reports.

The body was retrieved on Thursday morning from the fifth floor of Jannati Female Hostel, situated on Jigatola Old Kachabazar Road in the vicinity.

Rumi was the daughter of Md Zakir Hossain from Nazirpur in the Patnitala upazila of Naogaon district. Her mother's name is Nurjahan Begum.

Authorities are investigating whether her death was a suicide or a homicide.
