


After two consecutive increases, gold prices have fallen in Bangladesh’s domestic market. The Bangladesh Jewelers Association (BAJUS) has reduced the price of 22-carat gold by Tk 4,432 per bhori.
The new price of 22-carat gold is now set at Tk 2,47,977 per bhori (11.664 grams).
BAJUS announced the revised rates in a notification issued on Thursday (April 9). The updated prices are in effect today, Sunday (April 12).
According to BAJUS, the adjustment follows a decline in the price of pure gold in the local market. The new rates reflect current market conditions.
Under the revised pricing structure:
Earlier, on Wednesday, gold prices had increased by up to Tk 6,590 per bhori. The latest revision marks a notable drop.
BAJUS stated that these prices will remain effective nationwide until further notice. Buyers must also pay a 5% VAT, which is collected by sellers and deposited into the government treasury.
