


Bangladesh’s remittance inflow grew by 15.9% year-on-year with reaching $6.85 billion between July 1 and September 9 of the current fiscal year (FY27).
According to data released by the Bangladesh Bank on Thursday this reflects a significant jump from the $5.91 billion received during the same period in the previous fiscal year (FY26).
The steady inward flow of foreign currency continued into the current month the Expatriate Bangladeshis sent home $1.03 billion in just the first nine days of September 2026. This marks a 1.3% increase compared to the $1.01 billion recorded during the exact same timeframe last year. On September 9 alone country received $127 million through formal banking channels.
This positive trend builds on a strong foundation from the previous fiscal year secured a total of $35.34 billion in formal remittances. The sustained growth in expatriate income remains a crucial pillar for boosting the country's foreign exchange reserves and maintaining overall economic stability.
