


Gold prices have been increased again in the country's market by a large margin. According to the latest adjustment decision, gold is being sold at a new price from today, Thursday (February 5). At the same time, the new price of silver has also come into effect.
Earlier, on the afternoon of February 3, the Bangladesh Jewelers Association (BAJUS) announced an increase in gold prices through a notification. On that day, the price was increased by Tk 10,906 per bhori.
The notification stated that the new price of gold has been set considering the overall situation due to the increase in the price of acidic gold (pure gold) in the local market.
At the new price, 22-carat gold is being sold at Tk 2,62,090 per bhori (11.664 grams) in the country's market. In addition, 21-carat gold is being sold at Tk 2,50,193 per bhori, 18-carat gold is being sold at Tk 2,14,443 per bhori and traditional gold is being sold at Tk 1,75,485 per bhori.
So far this year, the price of gold has been adjusted 24 times in the domestic market. Out of these, the price has been increased 16 times and reduced 8 times. On the other hand, in 2025, the price of gold was adjusted a total of 93 times, where the price was increased 64 times and reduced 29 times.
Along with gold, the price of silver has also been increased. On Tuesday, in a single adjustment, the price of 22-carat silver was increased by 175 taka per bhori to 6,532 taka.
In addition, 21-carat silver is being sold at 6,240 taka per bhori, 18-carat silver at 5,365 taka per bhori and traditional silver is being sold at 4,240 taka per bhori.
So far this year, the price of silver has been adjusted 16 times. Out of these, the price has been increased 10 times and reduced 6 times. And in 2025, the price of silver was adjusted a total of 13 times—out of which the price increased 10 times and decreased 3 times.
