


The Bangladesh Jewelers Association (BAJUS) has decided to increase the price of gold in the country's market once again. This time, the price of a 22-carat gold bhori has been increased by Tk 4,199 to Tk 2,32,055. This is the highest price of the precious metal in the country's history. The new price will be effective from Tuesday (January 13).
Bajus announced this information in a press release on Monday (January 12) night. It said that the price of pure gold in the local market has increased. As a result, the new price of gold has been determined considering the overall situation.
According to the new price, the price of 22-carat gold per bhori (11.664 grams) in the domestic market is 232,055 taka. In addition, the price of 21-carat gold per bhori has been fixed at 221,499 taka, 189,890 taka per bhori and 156,881 taka per bhori of traditional gold.
Earlier, the last time the country's gold prices were adjusted by BAJUS on January 10 of this year. On that day, the price of a 22-carat gold bar was increased by Tk 1,050, making it Tk 2,27,856 per bar.
Apart from this, the price of gold per 21-carat bori has been fixed at 217,534 taka, per 18-carat bori at 186,449 taka, and per 155,423 taka for traditional gold. This will come into effect from January 11.
