


Three teenagers have been arrested in connection with the alleged gang rape of an 11-year-old schoolgirl in Borhanuddin upazila. The incident occurred during her school’s lunch break on July 26 in the Kachia Union area.
According to police and the First Information Report (FIR) filed by the victim’s brother, five teenagers had been repeatedly harassing the fifth-grader on her way to Padma Mansa Government Primary School. On the day of the incident one of the accused lured the child into a nearby banana plantation. The other suspects, who were waiting, took turns assaulting her while recording the crime on a mobile phone. The attackers fled when locals heard the girl's screams and intervened.
Following a formal complaint Borhanuddin police launched an immediate drive and arrested three 17-year-old suspects Rahat Siam and Emon. They have been forwarded to the court and placed in custody. Police operations are ongoing to apprehend the remaining two suspects.
Law enforcement officials confirmed that because all the accused are minors, judicial proceedings will be conducted strictly under the Children Act. Further investigation is underway to ensure justice and recover the digital evidence.
