


Police constable Abdul Quddus, 55, died while undergoing treatment after being injured during an operation against illegal battery-powered auto-rickshaws in Chattogram city.
He died around 11:00 am on Wednesday (May 20) at the ICU of Chattogram Medical College Hospital, confirmed Sub-Inspector Alauddin Talukder, who is on duty at the hospital police outpost.
According to police, the incident took place last Friday evening in the Rashmoni Ghat area under Pahartali Police Station. Constable Quddus stopped an illegal battery-powered auto-rickshaw and was taking it to the Mansurabad dumping station when the driver allegedly pushed him onto a road divider.
He sustained serious injuries and was admitted to Chattogram Medical College Hospital, where he later died during treatment.
