


Police arrested 326 individuals across 11 districts under the Chattogram range during a 24-hour special anti-narcotics and law enforcement operation ending Friday.
Chattogram Range Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Abdul Qudduch Chowdhury confirmed the arrests and stating that the operations targeted drug offenders, individuals facing outstanding arrest warrants and suspects in ongoing criminal cases.
According to police figures, 84 people were arrested in regular cases, 48 in pending cases, 87 under arrest warrants and others under various administrative and prevention sections of the law.
In the targeted anti-narcotics phase, officers arrested 70 individuals including drug dealers, carriers, and users and registered 20 new drug-related cases. During these raids the law enforcement seized 7,135 Yaba tablets, 8.3 kilograms of cannabis, 20 liters of local liquor and four tapentadol tablets.
Additionally the mobile courts sentenced eight individuals to prison terms and imposed monetary fines.
Police authorities stated that routine and targeted operations across all 11 districts will continue to maintain law and order and dismantle drug distribution networks.
