


Masud Alam, a Deputy Commissioner (DC) of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP), has been appointed as the new Superintendent of Police (SP) of Chattogram.
The Ministry of Home Affairs issued a notification regarding the transfer on Tuesday.
Masud Alam, originally from Bogra, gained prominence during his tenure as the DC of DMP's Ramna Division. His previous experience includes serving as the Additional Superintendent of Police in Pabna and working with the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB-6) at the Jhenidah camp.
Meanwhile, the outgoing SP of Chattogram, Mohammad Nazir Ahmed Khan, has been reassigned as the Superintendent of Police for the Armed Police Battalion (APBN). Nazir Ahmed Khan, who previously served as the SP of Cumilla, had taken charge in Chattogram following a lottery-based appointment on November 24 last year.
