Attack on Islamic Front candidate's car in Chattogram-9 constituency

Maulana Muhammad Wahed Murad, the candidate of the Islamic Front Bangladesh supported by the Greater Sunni Alliance for the upcoming 13th National Parliament election, was attacked.

The incident took place on Thursday (January 22) afternoon in the Sirajuddaula Road area under the Kotwali police station in the city.

Eyewitnesses and party sources said that miscreants threw stones from an unknown place and broke the front window of the candidate's car. Maulana Muhammad Wahed Murad was inside the car at the time of the incident.

The candidate with the chair symbol said, "I and my associates are terrified by such an attack on the first day of the election campaign. Preparations are underway to take legal action regarding the matter."

Kotwali Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Aftab Uddin said that after receiving the information about the attack, police were sent to the spot and the matter will be investigated seriously and legal action will be taken.
