


The newly appointed Police Commissioner of Gazipur Metropolitan Police (GMP), Md. Israil Howlader, engaged in discussions with journalists. During a meeting held in the conference room of the GMP headquarters on Sunday morning, the Police Commissioner stated that the police will maintain a neutral stance in the forthcoming national elections.
He requested the support of journalists in efforts to prevent crime, alleviate traffic congestion, control drug issues, and manage juvenile gangs. Additionally, he emphasized that significant focus will be directed towards mitigating traffic congestion within the city. Regular initiatives will be launched to eliminate illegal parking and restore order on the streets. Campaigns against drugs will also be intensified.
It is important to highlight that Md. Israil Howlader was appointed as the Gazipur Metropolitan Police Commissioner on November 16, as per a notification from the Police-1 Branch of the Ministry of Home Affairs. He officially took charge on November 19.
