A sensation has spread across Madhabpur’s Dalagaon village after a sack full of money was discovered in the house of a beggar following his death. Local sources said Nasir Mia, 65, had long survived by begging in the area. He passed away on October 9. The next day, while his family members were cleaning the house, they found a sack filled with bundles of banknotes. Upon counting, the total amount was found to be Tk 2.24 lakh. Residents believe Nasir Mia may have saved the money gradually over many years from his daily alms and donations, possibly keeping it hidden out of distrust. Locals described him as an honest and frugal man, expressing surprise that he had such a large sum saved without anyone knowing. Acting Chairman of Bahara Union, Mosharraf Hossain, confirmed the incident, saying it had caused widespread astonishment in the area. The discovery has since become the main topic of discussion throughout Madhabpur.
