BNP Joint Secretary General Shahid Uddin Chowdhury Annie has accused a political party of seeking votes by misinterpreting Islam.He made the remark on Saturday morning (October 11) while addressing a BNP courtyard meeting at Jamirtoli Adarsha High School field in Digholi Union of Lakshmipur Sadar Upazila.Anee Chowdhury said no political party has the right to use Islam as a tool for politics.
“How logical is it to seek votes by promising paradise?” he questioned. He added that performing the five daily prayers with proper recitation and following the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) are sufficient to attain Allah’s satisfaction.Warning drug traders, the BNP leader said, “To build a better society, drugs must be eradicated immediately.
