BNP Joint Secretary General Shahid Uddin Chowdhury Annie has accused a political party of seeking votes by misinterpreting Islam.He made the remark on Saturday morning (October 11) while addressing a BNP courtyard meeting at Jamirtoli Adarsha High School field in Digholi Union of Lakshmipur Sadar Upazila.Anee Chowdhury said no political party has the right to use Islam as a tool for politics.
“How logical is it to seek votes by promising paradise?” he questioned. He added that performing the five daily prayers with proper recitation and following the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) are sufficient to attain Allah’s satisfaction.Warning drug traders, the BNP leader said, “To build a better society, drugs must be eradicated immediately. Those involved in drug trading should return to normal life, or we will assist the police with information to take action.” The event was attended by BFF Vice-President Wahid Uddin Chowdhury Happy, district BNP member Hafiz Ullah, Chandraganj Thana BNP President Belal Hossain, General Secretary M.A. Yusuf Bhuiyan, District Mohila Dal President Sabera Anwar, General Secretary Sumi Bhuiyan, District Swechchhasebak Dal Vice-President Badrul Alam Shyamal, Chandraganj Thana Jubo Dal Member Secretary Abdul Mukit Sohel, Joint Convener Abdul Khalek, and Thana Chhatra Dal Member Secretary Md.
