Prime Minister Tarique Rahman arrived in Tokyo on Monday morning for an official state visit to Japan also marking his third major foreign trip since taking office in February last year. Japanese State Minister for Foreign Affairs Nakasone Yasutaka along with Bangladeshi officials received the prime minister at Narita International Airport.
Leading a 17-member high-level delegation including key ministers, economic advisors, foreign policy officials and the Bangladesh Bank Governor Prime Minister Rahman was escorted to the Imperial Hotel in Tokyo where the delegation will stay during the tour.
Analysts and media outlets in both Bangladesh and Japan view the visit as a pivotal moment for strengthening bilateral relations. The diplomatic mission aims to bolster trade, investment, infrastructure collaboration and overseas employment opportunities between the two nations.
