Prime Minister Tarique Rahman joined the opening ceremony of the international dialogue Bay of Bengal Conversation 2026 in Dhaka on Saturday morning.
He attended the event at the Grand Ballroom of Pan Pacific Sonargaon Hotel in the capital at around 9:15am on October 3.
The three-day international dialogue is being organised by the Centre for Governance Studies (CGS) under the theme, “Fragments, Frontiers, Futures: Navigating Power, Technology and Trust in a World Rewritten.” The event is being held from October 3 to 5.
The prime minister is the inaugural speaker and is scheduled to address Bangladesh’s position, global changes, international cooperation and regional prospects.
The event has brought together politicians, diplomats, researchers, economists, policymakers and media professionals from different countries. Organisers say the conference features around 200 speakers and participants from more than 100 countries.
Sessions during the dialogue will cover global shifts in the balance of power, international security, economic transformation, climate change, technology, democracy, good governance, and connectivity and trade centred on the Bay of Bengal.
The conference is structured around five broad areas: power in transition, technological change, the new economic geography, climate resilience and human security, and trust, democracy and governance.
