


Six more people have died of dengue across the country in 24 hours until 8:00 AM on Saturday also 1,608 new patients were admitted to hospitals according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
Two of the latest deaths were reported from the Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) area. The new fatalities bring the country’s total dengue death toll to 249 this year.
Among the 1,608 newly hospitalized patients the Dhaka division recorded the highest number with 525 admissions. Chattogram followed with 319 patients, Khulna with 276, Barishal with 215, Rajshahi with 132, Mymensingh with 79 and Rangpur with 62.
With the latest admissions total dengue hospitalizations in Bangladesh have reached 84,369 this year. On a positive note, health authorities confirmed that over 78,000 patients have recovered and been discharged from hospitals so far.
Health officials urge citizens to clear stagnant water around their homes and seek prompt medical attention at the first sign of fever as dengue cases continue to surge.
