Prime Minister Urges Nation to Realize July Martyrs' Vision

Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has urged citizens to unite in building the Bangladesh envisioned by the martyrs of the July Mass Uprising also emphasizing that their sacrifices must be honored by turning their dreams into reality.

Speaking at the Secretariat on Tuesday, the Prime Minister addressed a ceremony honoring the families of 10 Bangladesh Scouts members who lost their lives during the uprising. He presented the grieving families with financial assistance cheques and honorary medals.

"Those who sacrificed their lives in 1971 and 2024 fought to establish people’s rights, aiming to build a nation where basic needs are met and everyone lives in peace" Prime Minister stated. He stressed that simply remembering the martyrs is insufficient; citizens must actively work from their respective positions to uphold their legacy.

Addressing the scouts, the Premier encouraged them to stand by the people and the environment, fostering a spirit of public welfare and inspiring others to do the same.

During the event, Bangladesh Scouts President Nasimul Gani proposed incorporating the contributions of the July Mass Uprising martyrs into the national curriculum to educate future generations about their historic role.

The ceremony was attended by Education Minister A N M Ehsanul Hoque Milon, State Minister Bobby Hajjaj, PM’s Adviser Dr. Mahdi Amin and family members of the martyrs.
