Gold prices have increased again in Bangladesh. The Bangladesh Jewelers Association (BAJUS) has announced new rates following a rise in the international price of pure gold.
The decision was taken at a meeting of the BAJUS Standing Committee on Pricing and Price Monitoring on Thursday (July 2). The revised prices took effect at 10:00 am the same day and apply to all jewelry stores across the country.
Under the new rates, the price of 22-carat gold has increased by Tk 2,216 per bhori (11.664 grams). Including VAT, the new price has been set at Tk 224,182 per bhori.
The price of 21-carat hallmarked gold has been fixed at Tk 18,355 per gram, or Tk 214,893 per bhori.
The price of 18-carat gold is now Tk 15,765 per gram, equivalent to Tk 183,885 per bhori.
Meanwhile, traditional gold has been priced at Tk 12,880 per gram, or Tk 150,276 per bhori.
BAJUS said the latest price revision reflects the increase in the international market price of pure gold.
