International makeup artist and trainer Selina Monir is conducting an intensive bridal masterclass and hands-on workshop in the capital aiming to elevate skills and foster entrepreneurship among women in Bangladesh’s beauty industry.
The five-day training running from September 4 to 8 at Crowne Plaza Dhaka Airport also provides emerging artists and beauty professionals with practical market-ready expertise.
Monir has trained more than 1,000 women across Bangladesh helping many establish independent bridal studios or launch successful freelance careers. Her curriculum emphasizes sustainable business development alongside technique, covering skin preparation, modern bridal trends, client consultation, kit management and salon enterprise operations.
“A woman should not merely learn makeup and leave” Monir said. “She must be able to turn this skill into a viable profession, launch her own enterprise and achieve financial independence. That is the true measure of this training's success.”
During her visit, Monir is also collaborating with model and actress Barisha Haque on a promotional campaign that pairs contemporary global makeup styling with traditional Bangladeshi bridal couture.
The event is supported by fashion house Eleni as the main outfit partner, The Beauty Mall as the official cosmetics partner and Crowne Plaza Dhaka Airport as the hospitality host. Organizers noted that such global-standard initiatives are vital for expanding self-employment pathways for women nationwide.
