Gold prices in the domestic market have been reduced again, with the Bangladesh Jewellers Association (BAJUS) lowering the price of 22-carat gold by Tk3,324 per bhori. The new rates came into effect today, Thursday, July 9, 2026, at 10:00 AM.
According to a BAJUS statement, this adjustment follows a decline in the local price of pure gold (acid gold). Under the revised pricing structure, one bhori (11.664 grams) of 22-carat gold is now set at Tk221,966, a price that already includes VAT.
Other gold categories have also seen price reductions:
21-carat gold: Tk211,993 per bhori.
18-carat gold: Tk182,437 per bhori.
Traditional method gold: Tk148,774 per bhori.
BAJUS clarified that while VAT is included in the final retail price and cannot be charged separately, making charges will continue to vary based on the specific design of the jewellery. The association further noted that existing regulations regarding the exchange and purchase of gold remain unchanged. These revised rates will remain in force at all jewellery outlets across Bangladesh until further notice.
