The Morelganj Upazila Administration inaugurated a three-day festival on Thursday to mark National Poet Kazi Nazrul Islam's 127th birth anniversary and the official start of "Nazrul Barsho." The Honorable Prime Minister formally opened the event via video conference.
Chaired by Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Habibullah, the opening ceremony took place at the Upazila Parishad meeting room. Attendees included Assistant Commissioner (Land) Atish Sarkar, various government officials, local political leaders from BNP and Jamaat-e-Islami, journalists, teachers, and students.
During the discussion, speakers emphasized the importance of sharing the National Poet's literary works—particularly his messages of patriotism and equality—with the younger generation.
The meeting was followed by a cultural program featuring Nazrul's popular songs and poetry. The UNO confirmed that the three-day festival, running until July 4, will feature daily discussions and cultural performances by local artists.
