Interns and medical students at Faridpur Medical College Hospital (FMCH) went on strike and formed a human chain on Sunday afternoon to press for a six-point demand.
The protest was organized in response to recent policy decisions made by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare and the Bangladesh College of Physicians and Surgeons (BCPS).
Speaking on the hospital premises, protesters alleged that these "anti-doctor" policies threaten to disrupt the normal functioning of the health sector. They urged authorities to immediately review the decisions, take effective steps to improve healthcare quality, and protect the professional dignity of doctors.
The speakers warned that they will announce stricter demonstration programs if their demands are not implemented quickly.
Dr. A.S.M. Rashidul Islam, Dr. Sadia Pratyasha, Dr. Mostafizur Rahman, and Dr. CR Mashiel Alif, among others, addressed the gathering.
