Israeli forces launched intense artillery shelling and machine-gun fire across several towns and villages in southern Lebanon on Wednesday according to Lebanon’s official National News Agency (NNA).
The strikes hit targets across the western and central border sectors including the towns of Mansouri, Majdal Zoun, Haddatha, Baraachit and the Al-Araish area between Haris and Haddatha in the Bint Jbeil district. Machine-gun fire was directed at Beit al-Sayyad while earlier morning shelling targeted the outskirts of Shaqra and Wadi al-Salouqi.
There were no immediate reports of casualties or structural damage resulting from the strikes.
The latest military escalation comes amid ongoing US-led diplomatic negotiations aimed at establishing security arrangements along the blue line, ending Israeli border incursions and halting strikes on Lebanese territory.
