‘Ananya Jhalokati’ Talent Competition Inaugurated

The "Ananya Jhalokati" competition, organized by the Jhalokati Municipality, officially launched on Thursday morning at the District Shilpakala Academy auditorium. The event, themed "A daughter is unique in her mind, character, and confidence," aims to empower young women through skill-based evaluation rather than traditional pageantry.

Deputy Commissioner Md. Momin Uddin inaugurated the event as the chief guest, while Municipal Administrator Md. Kawsar Hossain presided over the session.

Addressing the gathering, speakers emphasized that "Ananya Jhalokati" is not a conventional beauty pageant. Instead, it serves as a platform to assess contestants on:

Speaking skills, presentation, and English proficiency. General knowledge, social responsibility, and leadership qualities. Excellence in dance, singing, recitation, painting, photography, or crafts. Modesty, academic performance, and proficiency in household management.

Municipal Administrator Md. Kawsar Hossain stated, "Every girl possesses an inner light that can transform society if given the right direction. This competition is a humble attempt to discover that power and foster leadership among our youth."

The event was attended by special guests including District Council Administrator Md. Shahadat Hossain, Additional SP Md. Saiful Islam, Civil Surgeon Dr. Mohammad Humayun Kabir, and other local officials.
