


Police have recovered the hanging dead body of a schoolgirl named Gaurabi Rani (15) from her bedroom in Sadullapur upazila of Gaibandha.
On Saturday (October 18) afternoon, her body was recovered wrapped in her used veil with a ceiling fan in her bedroom at Raipara in Dashlia village of Naldanga union of the upazila. The deceased Gaurabi Rani is the daughter of Gaurang Chandra Roy, a fish trader of the village. She was a class 10 student of Naldanga Gyanendra Chandra Girls High School.
Relatives of the deceased and locals said that on the day of the incident, none of the parents of the deceased Gaurabi were at home except her elderly grandmother. Father Gaurang was in Dhaka on business.
And her mother had gone to a close relative's house for a Shraddha ceremony. Meanwhile, her grandmother saw Gaurav's body hanging from the fan in her bedroom, with a veil around her neck, and screamed. At that moment, people around her screamed and ran and took Gaurav's hanging body down from the noose.
The police and the deceased's family could not reveal the exact cause of death. However, many believe that Gaurav's death is mysterious since no one was home.
The incident was immediately reported to the duty officer of Sadullapur police station at 2 pm. Two and a half hours after receiving this news, Sub-Inspector (SI) Ripon Sangyi of the police station reached the spot along with his force, prepared a preliminary report of the body and took the body to the police station for an autopsy.
Sadullapur police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Taj Uddin Khandaker confirmed the truth of the incident and said that police have been sent to the scene. Preparations are underway to file a case in this regard at the police station. However, the process of sending the body to the Gaibandha Modern Hospital morgue for autopsy is underway. However, the exact cause of his death can be confirmed after the autopsy report comes, the OC said.
