The Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA) conducted a mobile court drive in Chittagong today, January 22, to enforce road discipline and improve public safety.

Led by Executive Magistrate Fahmida Mustafa, the mobile court operated from 10 am to 3 pm in the Sirajuddaula Road and Muradpur areas. The drive targeted vehicles violating the Road Transport Act and those operating without valid permits.

A total of 15,000 BDT was fined across four separate cases for various traffic violations.

Eight human haulers (locally known as Leguna) were dumped after being found in violation of their route permit conditions.

The campaign specifically monitored high-traffic zones in the Sirajuddaula Road and Muradpur neighborhoods.

BRTA officials stated that these mobile court operations will continue regularly to restore order on the streets and reduce the frequency of road accidents in the metropolis.
