The Department of Environment has demolished 7 illegally operating brick kilns in Porsha, Naogaon. Along with this, a fine of Tk 29 lakh has been collected from the brick kilns for the crime of operating illegally. On Tuesday afternoon, at the initiative of the Department of Environment Naogaon District Office and under the leadership of Ms. Priyanka Das, Executive Magistrate of the Department of Environment Rajshahi Divisional Office, a drive was conducted in the Nitpur area of ​​the upazila and the kilns were demolished using an excavator.

A fine of Tk 4 lakh was imposed on M/s OMS Bricks, Tk 3 lakh on M/s PNV Bricks, Tk 5 lakh on M/s Bismillah Bricks, Tk 3 lakh on M/s NSB Bricks, Tk 5 lakh on M/s MRSA Bricks, Tk 5 lakh on M/s KJK Bricks and Tk 4 lakh on M/s KEBC Bricks for operating brick kilns without environmental clearance and brick burning license through mobile court.

In addition, all the brick kilns were shut down by disconnecting the electricity supply and extinguishing the kilns with the help of the fire service. Nazmul Hossain, Assistant Director of the Naogaon District Office of the Department of Environment, served as the prosecutor at this time.
